AlliumTech’s answer
to Industry 4.0 needs.

The project, which engaged our experts in a development lasting more than a year, enabled us to validate in an operational environment (TRL7) the effectiveness of a cloud service offering aimed at companies adopting advanced production systems.

At the origins of the Human/Not-Human paradigm

The system focuses on industrial processes characterized by performance of two traditionally disjointed domains:

Not-Human Domain

The domain of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, typical of industrial settings, characterized by sensor-generated parameter monitoring and control processes and automated ICT .

Human Domain

The domain of Human-to-Machine (H2M) solutions, through which humans, usually company operators or customers, can command the execution of automated processes or receive information from them derived from process data.

The limits of Machine-to-Machine solutions

  • They are often proprietary, inflexible in terms of configurability and evolvability, and tend to create legacies that are costly to disregard in subsequent evolutions.
  • They require significant time and investment for their preparation and management.
  • They involve, given the specificities and constraints posed by different types of solutions and providers, complex interworking to compose and synthesize indicators from different processes.

The limits of human-to-machine solutions

  • They are rarely natively integrated into proprietary monitoring and control solutions.
  • They are currently still underutilized to support Industry process improvement and value creation.

H3 Solution

The platform introduces improvements to production, maintenance and customer relationship processes through cloud computing and IoT technologies, using ICT so that human-machine interaction is central to process evolution (Smart Trajectory of the Piedmont Region S3 Strategy).

Cloud-based

It enables services and integrates technologies offered in SaaS mode, in order to minimize the investment and operational costs of adoption and management.

Open

It makes integration with customers' systems and business processes possible via standard IT interfaces (REST APIs).

Modular

Its service performance can also be evolved and adopted by customers separately.

Use Cases / Some Examples

Manufacturing processes
(non-SCADA)

It enables all the typical performance of SCADA systems without the associated costs: cloud-based historization of data from any type of IoT sensor, data processing for per production scenario monitoring and management, and customization of processing logic.

Remote support
in maintenance processes

Innovative maintenance performance through multimodal and multichannel human-machine interfaces: information retrieval via voice channel and aid app, support on specific procedures, access to visual documentation synchronously with dialogue.

Access control to private
and restricted areas and sites

Dematerialization of security systems: provision of controlled access to private areas (e.g., maintenance sites, restricted areas) by designated operators upon receipt of voice command (biometric verification) from telephone terminal.

Customer
interaction processes

Assuming the scenario of managing unmanned parking areas, the system enables, on voice, web and chat-bot channels, the acquisition of availability information, including with notification, and contact with a remote operator in case of problems.
